If you love exposed brick, huge windows, hardwood floors, and an industrial space that still feels polished, The High Five GR is one of the most recognizable downtown Grand Rapids wedding venues. The pillar-free event space can seat up to 300 guests and offers 360-degree views of the city, with options to host your ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception on site. The fourth and fifth floors give you flexibility throughout the day, while the downtown location gives you plenty of options for wedding photos without traveling far. It’s especially beautiful once the sun goes down and the chandeliers and reception lighting take over.

For something completely different from a traditional ballroom, the Grand Rapids Art Museum offers one of the most modern and unique wedding venues in downtown Grand Rapids. GRAM's clean architecture, open spaces, city views, and rotating artwork create a backdrop that feels elevated without competing with your wedding design. It's located directly in the heart of downtown near Rosa Parks Circle, which also gives us SO many options for portraits within a few blocks. If you love modern architecture, art, and the idea of celebrating somewhere that doesn't feel like a typical wedding venue, GRAM is an incredible choice.
The Rutledge

The Rutledge brings together historic Grand Rapids character and a warm, modern-industrial feel right in the heart of downtown. Original hardwood floors, exposed brick, open-beam ceilings, vintage violet-paned windows, and Edison-bulb chandeliers give the space plenty of character without needing to completely transform it. The venue can accommodate up to 250 seated guests and includes the private Baltic Suite for getting ready or sneaking away for a quiet moment during the day. Its downtown location also puts you within walking distance of hotels, restaurants, and some of my favorite spots for downtown Grand Rapids wedding photos.
The Ballroom at McKay

If you’re dreaming of a downtown wedding that’s both grand and inviting, The Ballroom at McKay Tower fits the bill. With high ceilings, sparkling chandeliers, and polished marble, this 10,900-square-foot ballroom hosts up to 200 seated guests. You’ll have six catering options, bartending handled on-site, and a team that includes an event coordinator and beverage manager. Floor-length linens, mahogany Venice chairs, and a wood parquet dance floor complete the elegant, stress-free experience.
